This is a goblin shark (Mitsukurina owstoni), a deep sea creature that’s been sighted less that fifty times since its discovery. They’re the only living representative of the family Mitsukurinidae. [x]

Goblin sharks inhabit upper continental slopes, submarine canyons, and sea-mounts around the world at depths greater than 100m (330 ft), with adults found deeper than juveniles. [x]
